32nd FAI World Soaring Championship
Event Information
Garner Field in Uvalde, Texas will be the site of the FAI World Soaring Championships from July 28 to August 19, 2012. The return of this threeweek long worldwide competition, which Uvalde has not hosted since 1991, will bring together pilots from around the world!
This event is the Olympics of the soaring world. 120 pilots from 40 different countries will compete, bringing with them their crew and families, numbering over 1000 people. Dozens of glider aficionados will come in from all parts of the country just to be apart of the excitement. Even by Texas standards, this contest will be BIG!
